Almost no wind, mostly cloudy. The forecast said fog, but no fog appeared and there was more migration today than in previous days. Lots of Fieldfares moving overhead, and 46 were caught with playback. Nets open 07-17, netmeter hours approx. 3300.

What a difference one day of optimal conditions can make: 17 Goldfinches were ringed today, a new record in one day and also taking the annual total to a record 34.

Ringed, October 21st: Winter Wren 3, European Robin 2, Song Thrush 2, Redwing 11, Common Blackbird 22, Fieldfare 46, Blackcap 7, BARRED WARBLER 1, SIBERIAN CHIFFCHAFF 2, Common Chiffchaff 2, Goldcrest 7, Blue Tit 8, Great Tit 2, Common Starling 1, House Sparrow 5, Brambling 1, Greenfinch 14, EUROPEAN GOLDFINCH 17, Twite 2. Total = 155. Also a control of a Greenfinch not from Revtangen.

A very late Barred Warbler was trapped just before dark. Hauksanger.

Total = 155. Også en kontroll av en fremmed grønnfink.
