Revtangen BO October 19th-20th
Tried owl trapping again on the night between the 18th and 19th. The wind was initially in the NW and a bit too stron, but eased off and turned SE after midnight when the conditions improved a lot. A big surprise in the form of a Hawk Owl trapped around 22, before two Tengmalm's Owls caught bevween 01 and 03. Trapping by day on the 19th only in the morning until 11, and also a short session on the 20th 10.30-15. In total, around 1400 netmeter hours in daylight. Playback on Redwing (dawn) and Grey Wagtail on the 19th.
This 1cy Hawk Owl was the 6th ever ringed at Revtangen BO, but the first since 1983. Haukugle 1K.
Ringed on the 19th-20th:
Eurasian Woodcock 1, TENGMALM'S OWL 2, HAWK OWL 1, Grey Wagtail 6, Meadow Pipit 1, Winter Wren 13, European Robin 2, Common Blackbird 6, Fieldfare 1, Song Thrush 2, Redwing 20, Blackcap 2, Goldcrest 7, Great Tit 7, Blue Tit 41, Long-tailed Tit 8, House Sparrow 4, Tree Sparrow 7, Chaffinch 2, Brambling 10, Greenfinch 9, Lesser Redpoll 1, Reed Bunting 1, Yellowhammer 1. Total = 155. 
The first flock of Long-tailed Tits appeared today, a typical late October species. Stjertmeis.
