Revtangen BO May 27th-31st

Very nice weather finally, still rather cool at night but sunny and little wind in the morning at least. Light easterlies until noon on the 31st. Not many migrants around, but locally produced young are increasing day by day. No trapping on the 30th.


Common breeding bird, but very rarely trapped: Eurasian Skylark. Sanglerke.

Ringed: Collared Dove 2, EURASIAN SKYLARK 1, White Wagtail 1, Meadow Pipit 1, Common Redstart 1, Fieldfare 12, Common Blackbird 3, Sedge Warbler 1, Blackcap 1, Garden Warbler 1, Common Whitethroat 4, Lesser Whitethroat 2, Willow Warbler 6, Common Starling 22, House Sparrow 25, Tree Sparrow 5, Chaffinch 1, Eurasian Siskin 11, Lesser Redpoll 7, Common Linnet 3. Total = 110.



It looked as though we would go an entire spring without catching a single redstart, before this 2cy male turned up today. Rødstjert, 2k hann.

Ringmerket, 27.-31.mai: Tyrkerdue 2, SANGLERKE 1, linerle 1,heipiplerke 1, rødstjert 1, gråtrost 12, svarttrost 3, sivsanger 1, munk 1, hagesanger 1, tornsanger 4, møller 2, løvsanger 6, stær 22, gråspurv 25, pilfink 5, bokfink 1, grønnsisik 11, brunsisik 7, tornirisk 3. Total = 110.



A very greyish Willow Warbler from May 31st, coloration alone suggest the northern ssp. acredula, as do the late date for a migrant. Løvsanger, trolig den nordlige underarten acredula.
