Revtangen BO August 16th-18th

Very light easterlies in the morning, later shifting breeze. Relatively hot weather, but fog was an issue the two first mornings, and probably prevented a significant arrival on migrants on the 16th. Playback at night on Garden-, Reed- and Grasshopper Warbler.

The first Barred Warbler (1 cy) of the season was trappet on the 17th. Hauksanger 1K.

Ringed: Collared Dove 1, White Wagtail 1, YELLOW WAGTAIL 1, Tree Pipit 12, Dunnock 1, European Robin 2, Redwing 5, Fieldfare 3, Grasshopper Warbler 1, Reed Warbler 8, Sedge Warbler 2, Garden Warbler 19, BARRED WARBLER 1, Common Whitethroat 6, Lesser Whitethroat 1, Chiffchaff 3, Willow Warbler 42, Goldcrest 1, Coal Tit 2, Pied Flycatcher 2, Spotted Flycatcher 3, Common Starling 1, Tree Sparrow 33, House Sparrow 2, Chaffinch 1, Greenfinch 5, Common Linnet 3, Lesser Redpoll 5, Yellowhammer 2. Total = 169.


A rare catch; maybe once every 3 years we trap a Yellow Wagtail. Gulerle 1K.

A few Coal Tits have been in the trapping area most days; is this the start of a larger irruptive movement? Svartmeis.
