Revtangen BO May 19th-21st

Two Painted Ladies

A bit of on-and-off trapping these days, with nets open in the afternoon on the 19th, the morning and early afternoon on the 20th and some hours around mid-dag on the 21st. Not a lot going on, the wind was mainly in "the difficult south". 

In total, birds ringed these 3 days: Common Cuckoo 1 (the first in a few years), Eurasian Skylark 1 (first this season, very rarely caught), White Wagtail 2, Meadow Pipit 1, Song Thrush 1, Fieldfare 4, Sedge Warbler 2, Blackcap 3, Common Whitethroat 3, Lesser Whitethroat 2, Willow Warbler 11, Chiffchaff 3, Spotted Flycatcher 3, House Sparrow 5 (the first juveniles of the season on the 19th), Common Starling 1, Chaffinch 1, Greenfinch 1, Eurasian Siskin 1 (first this season), Lesser Redpoll 11, Common Linnet 3. Total = 59. Also 16 controls. 

Ringmerket: Gjøk 1, sanglerke 1, linerle 2, heipiplerke 1, måltrost 1, gråtrost 4, sivsanger 2, munk 3, tornsanger 3, møller 2, løvsanger 11, gransanger 3, gråfluesnapper 3, gråspurv 5, stær 1, bokfink 1, grønnfink 1, grønnsisik 1, brunsisik 11 og tornirisk 2. Total = 59, også 16 kontroller.

Two Painted Ladies were a welcome surprise on the 19th, also at least 5 Red Admirals were seen. Tistelsommerfugl.
