Revtangen BO October 17-31st

The second half of October has more or less rained and blown away, with very limited opportunities for ringing. We have ringed on 7 days, but only on the 19th with most nets active. The remaining days we've only operated a limited number of nets for a limited number of hours when the weather and blue tits have permitted us to do so.


Our third Little Bunting of the season was ringed on October 23rd. Dvergspurv.

Ringed, second half of October: Grey Wagtail 3, Tree Pipit 1, Winter Wren 9, European Robin 5, Song Thrush 1, Redwing 11, Fieldfare 15, Common Blackbird 11, Blackcap 13, SIBERIAN CHIFFCHAFF 1, Goldcrest 13, Coal Tit 1, Willow Tit 1, Great Tit 8, Blue Tit 156, Treecreeper 1, Tree Sparrow 16, House Sparrow 6, Chaffinch 4, Greenfinch 18, European Goldfinch 1, Twite 23, Lesser Redpoll 3, Yellowhammer 48, LITTLE BUNTING 1, Reed Bunting 1. Total = 371. Also 36 controls, including 6 birds ringed elsewhere.


Yellowhammers are a focus species in late October and November, they respond well to playback. Male (top) and female, both 1 cy. Gulspurv 1K hann (øverst) og 1K hunn.

Ringmerket, siste halvdel av oktober: Vintererle 3, trepiplerke 1, gjerdesmett 9, rødstrupe 5, måltrost 1, rødvingetrost 11, gråtrost 15, svarttrost 11, munk 13, SIBIRGRANSANGER 1, fuglekonge 13, svartmeis 1, granmeis 1, kjøttmeis 8, blåmeis 156, trekryper 1, pilfink 16, gråspurv 6, bokfink 4, grønnfink 18, stillits 1, bergirisk 23, brunsisik 3, gulspurv 48, DVERGSPURV 1, sivspurv 1. Total = 371. Også 36 kontroller, inkl. 6 fugler merket annetsteds.
